Zoe Legacy Equips Entrepreneurs with Practical Business Skills
Hosted by the Zoe Legacy Foundation, the seminar was specifically designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical tools and resources to build sustainable businesses.
Businesswoman Ruth Mthabine delivered a powerful message on resilience and reinvention, encouraging attendees to view setbacks as opportunities for growth and fresh beginnings.
Dipuo Phakathi shared strategies for accessing funding after successfully raising more than $194 000 through blended finance. Sean Shipalana provided insights on transforming a side hustle into a structured business, while Justin Nadesan inspired attendees with his remarkable journey of overcoming adversity to build one of Johannesburg’s largest bakery manufacturing operations. Today, his business supplies major retailers across Gauteng and distributes approximately 50 000 cakes every month.
Highlights Branding, Social Media and Growth Strategies
The programme also featured a panel discussion with Pearl Holdstock, Kelly Thela, and Kajal Maharaj, who shared practical advice on personal branding, social media, business growth, and resilience.
A major highlight of the Zoe Legacy Foundation seminar was the Elevator Pitch Challenge, which gave entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their businesses and compete for valuable business visibility prizes.

Host Pastor Justin Naidoo said the event aligned closely with the organization’s mission to equip and empower people.
“Entrepreneurs need more than motivation. They need practical guidance, meaningful relationships and opportunities to grow. We wanted to create a space where people could learn from those who have walked the journey and connect with others who understand the realities of entrepreneurship.”
He added:
“When people build successful businesses, they create opportunities not only for themselves but for others. Entrepreneurship remains one of the most effective ways to create jobs, restore dignity and strengthen communities.“
Meaningful Connections for Future Entrepreneurs
Attendees praised the seminar’s practical approach and authentic conversations.
Shipalana described the event as both encouraging and impactful.
“Entrepreneurship can be lonely and it’s so good to be in the company of like-minded people. It was inspirational, motivational and real.”
Oelzah Packree highlighted the practical value of the discussions.
“A lot of conferences focus on what you need to do, but very few people actually share how you need to do it. I believe that is really the magic sauce. I am so grateful to the Zoe Legacy Foundation for hosting this.“

Actress Kajal Maharaj, pictured above, said one of the event’s greatest strengths was its ability to foster meaningful connections.
“The entire event left everyone feeling liberated to connect with each other, to collaborate, to inspire and to continue with their businesses with faith and purpose.“
For attendee Bradley Rajgopaul, the event spoke to something deeper than financial success.
“Entrepreneurship is more than the ability to make money. It is about identity, purpose and destiny.”
Supporting Entrepreneurial Growth
Director of the Zoe Legacy Foundation, Melini Moses, said the strong turnout reflected a growing demand for practical entrepreneurial support.
“What stood out was not only the quality of the speakers, but the willingness of people to share their journeys honestly. The room was filled with people who are building businesses, overcoming challenges and looking for ways to create a better future. We saw meaningful conversations, new connections and genuine collaboration taking place throughout the day.“

Following the success of the seminar, the Zoe Legacy Foundation is exploring future mentorship initiatives and business development programmes to continue supporting entrepreneurs on their journeys.
The organization believes that when entrepreneurs are equipped, connected, and empowered, entire communities benefit. Through initiatives like this, the Zoe Legacy Foundation is helping to inspire a new generation of business leaders who can create jobs, strengthen communities, and shape a brighter future for South Africa.
