Nelson Mandela believed that: “The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.” It is a sentiment that has stood the test of time with Youth Day being an annual reminder that young people must be given the reassurance that everything is being done to ensure they are better leaders of tomorrow, in the smallest of ways and sometimes in capacities they never expected such as leading communities or the country.

Memorable contribution to youth day
One of the most significant contributions to Youth Day 2026 was the sponsorship to five young business people in Soweto in Gauteng. The Inkatha Freedom Party sponsored these worthy candidates with a whopping R50 000 each to kickstart their business empires.

You are fantastic… Reach for your stars, because now you can be anything and everything you want to be. We are proud of you and that you don’t allow circumstances to keep you down.”
— Desmond Tutu

Still believing in the promise of our young generation taking the SA Flag far and beyond, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) celebrated youth day with pupils at a Gauteng-based school while sponsoring a Careers Expo. Parents and pupils were invited to learn more about career choices and what job title could suit each child best. Investing in the youth of today helps Mzansi grow to its finest potential and it seems many organizations across South Africa delivered this Youth Day 2026.

We will update this post if we find any other images which showcase the resilience, optimism and brilliance of our young generation. Otherwise, stay tuned for more updates that keep our youth feeling inspired, motivated and confident for their future.
