The NYDA National Youth Service (NYS), a South African government program under the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI), will soon launch Phase 5 of its National Youth Service (NYS) Programme. This effort is a way of offering young people hope. What it entails is that 100 000 paid service opportunities for unemployed young people across all nine provinces of South Africa will be offered.

National youth empowerment programme

In a bid to inspire young people who are without jobs, a national rollout will take place. Those seeking jobs will undergo applications processes in all nine provinces. There will also be roadshows taking place across Mzansi.

National youth service opportunities

The National Youth Service Programme provides young people with meaningful opportunities through community service, work exposure, skills development, civic participation, and pathways into sustainable livelihoods. Through this programme, youth contribute meaningfully to their communities while gaining practical experience, strengthening social cohesion, and advancing nation-building.

What lies ahead

The launch takes place, as well as the creation of 100 000 paid service opportunities. There will be an application and registration process through SA Youth. Who should apply? People who hail from vulnerable youth groups and young people with disabilities are welcome to apply. Youth Express will keep you posted about the latest information about this great initiative.
