Limpopo Boy had a recent fallout which went viral but that controversy does not appear to have stopped the entertainer from pursuing the career that made him a household name.

South African dancer and choreographer Limpopo Boy, real name Matome Robert Mahlatse Thoka, is continuing with his professional commitments in the wake of the controversy that placed his private life under intense public scrutiny in August 2026.

The entertainer has addressed the controversy publicly, confirmed that his World Tour 10 is continuing, and is now directing attention back towards his work, with upcoming performances confirmed for Switzerland on 24 October and onward to Russia from 20 to 24 December 2026.

What actually happened to Limpopo Boy

The Limpopo Boy fallout began after a private intimate video involving the dancer was circulated online. His management condemned the distribution of the footage as unauthorised and said it was engaging cybersecurity experts, legal representatives and hosting platforms over the circulation of the material. Limpopo Boy later issued an apology in which he said he regretted his actions and claimed he did not know the woman involved was married at the time. His apology subsequently appeared to have been removed from his Instagram account, although the reason for its removal has not been publicly confirmed.

Career continues for the entertainer

Despite the Limpopo Boy fallout, his career has continued to show signs of activity. Thoka has built his profile through dance performances, choreography, social-media content and international dance opportunities, including his participation in the Brussels Dance Battle, which he won in 2023. His international profile has also been strengthened through dance classes and performances outside South Africa. More recently, his team announced that his UK show had sold out, providing a concrete indication that the controversy has not completely stopped audiences from supporting his work.

Return to The Stage

For now, Limpopo Boy’s return to work appears to be centred on confirmed performances rather than a new public-relations campaign or a dramatic comeback announcement. He has already confirmed that World Tour 10 is going ahead, including the Switzerland and Russia dates, while the reported UK sell-out gives him another positive development to build on. There is currently no reliable evidence that he has announced a specific “comeback strategy” or detailed plan to repair his image, so it would be premature to claim that he is pursuing one. What can be established is that, despite the Limpopo Boy fallout, he is continuing to accept and fulfil performance opportunities while his career moves into its next phase.
